The Key To A Great Outfit ...

I am a big fan of the high/low mix. PERIOD. You dont have to have the newest Givenchy tee or Proenza dress to look the part of a fashion maven. Working in the fashion industry can put a lot of pressure on a Toronto-born girl like me, which is when Zara and H & M (sometimes) come into play. Yes, I do love Balenciaga's and Chanel's, but mixing them with a Zara slip dress and plaid shirt is the ultimate statement! Do what you want. Mix a flea market blouse with some Balmain jeans. Whatever floats your boat. I am all for mixing and matching styles, prices, prints, etc. Normally, I'll go for a higher end bag or shoes that really make heads turn, combined with a lower end top and bottom. Check out my high/low mixed picks below!

Enjoy!

Bag Of The Moment: Simone Camille

My favourite bag of the season is this backpack from Simone Camille a.k.a Simone Harouche. Yes, she is the celeb stylist who has worked with all of the sickest people, including Miley Cyrus. And yes, I do have a slight obsession with the short-haired, tongue exposed chick. This chick knows whats up. The leopard print is spot on (get it?) mixed with the weird, but kind of cool, coin-like features. This bag is everything! Everyone from Shea Marie from Peace Love Shea to the oh-so famous Torontonians, The Beckermans, have been seen flaunting this bag. It is obviously easy to carry, you don't have to worry about the strap falling off your shoulder or holding it with one hand all day. When you take it shopping (because where else would you need to go) you will look fabulous with your hands free, and ready to try on. The price tag is the one feature that does not make it super easy to buy, however if your like moi, it will be hard to resist. If you want to check out Simone Camille's full collection you can go to http://simonecamille.com/. HAVE FUN and sorry if you get carried away with your credit card!

Vacation Time

As you all know very well, the holiday season is fast approaching. YAY! This means lots of food, sun, and fancy dinner outfits. Every year for about 20 years now I have been going to Palm Beach during Christmas time. It has always been like a second home for me (I know, Palm Beach is a great second home). Lots of family time, tanning, and shopping goes on within this 2 week period. And when I say lots of shopping, I mean LOTS of shopping. Worth Ave. is like a feeding frenzy for me when I step foot on the pavement. Hermes, Chanel, Saks, Neimans... the list goes on. Looking down the road starting at Saks and finally ending up at Ralph Lauren, I normally feel a sense of excitement that doesn't compare to many other things. So because I need an outfit for every day and then a different one for every night, shopping FOR Palm Beach is absolutely essential. Here are some of my top picks for the holiday season. These are just a few pieces that I would love to bring on my vacation with me, although this might not happen (just because of the price tags or something...) This list includes items from 3.1 Phillip Lim, Isabel Marant, Christopher Kane (obvs), Sophia Webster, etc.
Contact me if you need any info on where to purchase these items!

Until next time,
Steph

Fave Shows From Spring '14

Hi everyone,

For my first posting as a blogger, I wanted to share my thoughts on Springs best shows. I know it is a little bit late, but I just can't stop talking about Spring-wear, so I figured I would get it out here! I always get excited when I look at my iCal and see that Fall is just around the corner. This means (1) I can start wearing my cozy sweaters and big scarves (that always resemble a blanket), and (2) the Spring shows are coming up! The New York and Paris fashion weeks are my favourite because of all the street-wear photos I find online. Searching online during this time kind of makes me feel like I am on a shopping spree. There is so much to see and everyone (well, most people) just look so chic!

Chanel. I think this word just automatically brings joy to most people. Watching the show on Style.com as it is happening is so exhilarating! I can't stop thinking about how Karl does it. How can Karl Lagerfeld be such a genius and come up with so many new ideas every season, while still keeping the effortlessly elegant nature of the brand? This season, the fun and bright colours mixed with the trademark Chanel tweed made the collection young and exciting! Although I cannot go out and buy the full collection because, well, its Chanel, I am dying for a classic blazer with a twist to it. Maybe one that looks like the below picture...

This crop top and skirt that looks like it is made out of paint palettes is so fresh and eye-popping, it almost does not seem like something Chanel would do. I can see how Karl deff had fun with this coming spring season! Chanel normally has a kind of black and white feel to it so I was super thrilled when I saw lots of colour. Although it will not be so thrilling for my bank account in a few months.

Next, A.L.C. I have a slight obsession with this brand for the
simple reason that it is so easy to take off the runway and put onto my body. The sleekness combined with the more intricate pieces makes the collection wearable with an edge. Some of the pure, crisp white pieces are so eye-catching, especially when mixed with more colourful hues. I will definitely be asking my "guy" at Holt's to watch out for THE A.L.C. spring arrivals. I know, good things come to those who wait, but I can not seem to wait for spring to arrive. Can I hibernate through the winter? Thanks!
