Let 'Em Hang

Asherali Knopfer is a jewelry line designed by Chanael Knopfer, which started out with nail rings (pieces of metal that sit on your finger nail) and progressively moved into creating these insane hanging earrings. They come in singles, which is somewhat annoying, but I don't think I can live without having at least one. Check 'em out below, and on Browns Fashion

BAC2FASHION

This year I have decided to get involved with the Toronto's BAC2Fashion, doing what I do best, STYLING. Getting involved in Toronto based organizations for young adults has been something that is very important to me, which is where this show comes into play.

Coming up on Wednesday May 28th at 7pm will be an incredible night of cocktails, fashion and fun! UJA's Community Connect has worked incredibly hard to put on an amazing fashion show at The Warehouse Venue (35 Carl Hall Road). Inspired by both birthright experiences and the the elderly community in Toronto, the committee was motivated to put on a fashion show. The event will be raising money for seniors in Jewish Toronto as a thank you for all the inspiration and wisdom they have provided throughout our lives.
Here are some specifics on UJA's programs that this event will support for our seniors to help make sure they have the best and most comfortable living experiences:
  • Healthy At Home, which helps isolated seniors living in Toronto get involved in social and educational programs
  • Support for Holocaust Survivors, which supports financially vulnerable survivors and provides them with healthcare services.

You'll enjoy checking out some looks from local Toronto stores like Sense of Independence, Tana+Bee, Over the Rainbow, Shenkin West, Jerome’s, Intuition and Masha Apparel. We have pulled stylish looks that will blow you away!

Make sure to pick up some raffle tickets at the show to win some crazy amazing prizes supplied by some of our extremely generous sponsors.

P.S. you can buy your tickets here: http://bac2fashion.com/tickets

Hope to see you all there!
xx

Fashion Icon: Blake Lively

Blake Lively stole my young heart when she first appeared as Serena on Gossip Girl 7 years ago. Her fashion has evolved with the times and I just have to say that there is not one outfit I see her in that I dislike. She always looks so calm, cool, and collected, while continuously showing her fun and quirky side. Everything about her is just AH-mazeballs! Blake has claimed for so long that she does not have a red carpet stylist, which I just found hard to believe, and recently she has revealed that she does get "style advice" from time to time by none other than the creative geniuses themselves, Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Louboutin (just think about that one for a second). I just don't get how she has the time to go shopping for all her outfits that she puts together, but then again, she might be superwoman. Lately, she has been blowing me away with her looks so I felt the need to dedicate a full post to everything Lively.

P.S. these are all red carpet looks, but that does not discount her crazy amazing street style...

MET GALA 2014: The Day After

Now that I have calmed down from the beginning of the Met Gala last night, I realized that there are quite a few dresses that I really did love. I was so bothered last night when writing my previous post that I couldn't see the positives through the negatives. Ill tell you right now, when I realized that Stella McCartney worked with BadGalRiRi, Cara Delevigne, Reese Witherspoon, and Kate Bosworth I was pretty damn excited. Here are some of my top looks from last nights Fashion Gala.

P.S. Who else is noticing a colour theme here?

Kim K looked pretty stunning in her leg-baring Lanvin gown. BIG improvement from last years floral, sofa number.

BadGalRiRi always looks bangin' in everything she puts on. I would say she is one of my style icons. Of course, Stella kills it every time, and when you have Rihanna's body to work with, anything is possible.

Charlize Theron is always a class act in my books. She makes this simple black and white Dior gown into something beyond what most people would do. The hair, the blazer, the earrings all make the outfit that much more chic.

Karolina Kirkova is the epitome of DRAMA in this floral Marchesa piece. I would say it's more a piece of art work than an actual dress, which is probably what the designers go for when they design for the Met Gala each year.

This silk organza gown by Burberry looks killer on Suki Waterhouse. She is just so cool and edgy that the nude soft tones sort of juxtapose her personality. At first glance it looks somewhat simply, but when you analyze this dress you find a lot more detail than expected (especially for Burberry)

Blake Lively looked like a spitting image of Hollywood Glam at the Gala last night. This Gucci number is so elegant, but also fun at the same time. I love the cape in the back, it makes the gown a little more interesting. This shape and nude pantone looks epic on Blake's body and skin tone. Plus, her gorgeous off-to-the-side hair fits perfectly with the whole outfit.

I had to throw this group shot in because of (I am sure you have all caught on now) my obsession for everything Stella. I truly think she is a genius in her craft! No matter who she dresses she always seems to make everyone look like they are ready for any red carpet.

MET GALA 2014: Um, What?

So overall, I'm pretty disappointed with this years Met Gala. There are not many gowns that I can say I really love. Besides a few looks, I cannot understand what the designers were thinking this year, whose with me on this one... This night is supposed to be the night where the best and most fashionable designs come out to play, and I was just so underwhelmed.

P.S. there are many more dresses that I absolutely hated, but there were just too many to post, That's Sad!

Okay, so heres where the "What The Fuck Were They Thinking" outfits come in. Honestly, I've never loved Rachel McAdams style, but THIS? I just don't get it. Ralph Lauren could do so much better- in terms of style, shape, colour, etc. I can understand the idea of simplicity, but this is just too bland and boring, especially for this event! So NOT into it!

All I can say is WHAT THE FUCK? I have always been a Lupita Nyong'o supporter (in the style department) but I am just flabbergasted with this one?

I feel like Bee Shaffer should be losing her glass slipper at any moment here. This dress is just a huge miss in my books. I normally LOVE everything McQueen does, no matter what, but this baby blue gown does not hit the spot. She should probably hit the hay before the clock strikes 12.

I am very confused. I mean, I always understand Anna Wintour's chicness when it comes to her classic suits, but this weird floral geometric Chanel number doesn't make sense. In my books, Chanel can do no wrong, apart from this one dress. The sheer t-shirt part on the top of this dress is just so unsettling. It makes me a bit angry to see Miss Wintour, the queen of fashion, in such a strange and ugly gown.

Zoe Saldana, in Michael Kors, looks very hippy on the bottom thanks to her weirdly shaped gown. I'm all for a wide bottomed dress, but the fact that this dress sort of looks like a muffin top is kind of confusing. Zoe normally kills it, in my eyes, but I am really disappointed in her choice for this years MET GALA. The one thing I do actually like about this dress is the colour combo, that's about it though.

Hailee Steinfeld is just so young and fresh, and this dramatic dress does not do any justice to her adorable little figure. It's way too wide and it doesn't even fit her properly. The neckline looks good on her, but that's about it. Something a little more fitted (or just tapered a bit) through the bottom would have been a much better choice for the young star.
